Stuart Findlay shares positive update on injury recovery
Stuart Findlay says his rehab has been going well as he bids to recover from a long-term ankle injury.
The centre-back suffered severe ligament damage during a match against Dundee back in November – and he’s continuing to work towards a return next month.
Speaking to John Barnes on Killie TV commentary during our victory against Dundee United, Stuart said: “It’s been a frustrating time. Obviously, it’s been a little while now since I was able to get out and play, but all the rehab’s going in the right direction.
“It’ll still be a wee while yet, but hopefully sooner rather than later, I can get out and help the guys.
“The first couple of weeks, I was a little bit immobile before the operation, then after the operation, it takes a little bit to recover.
“But the last four or five weeks, I’ve been able to get myself into the gym, start to do the rehab that I need to get through.
“And hopefully, it won’t be long before I can get myself back on the pitch, back to a little bit of running. And hopefully, it’s only one direction from there before I’m back on the park for real.
“The rough estimate was always going to be sometime in March.
“I know there’s a few games in the March timeline, I’m hoping that I can be available for one of them. That’s everything going well, and that’s what the plan is.
“Barring any setbacks, hopefully that’s the sort of realistic target for when I can be back with the guys.”
