Match report: Kilmarnock 0-1 Ross County

Kilmarnock saw their bid to climb into the top-six shattered by a late Ross County goal.

The Ayrshire side were chasing a winner which would have been enough to jump to sixth place, but George Harmon ensured it was the Staggies heading back to Dingwall with three points.

Killie were dealt a blow in the opening few minutes when Innes Cameron was forced off through injury, being replaced by the returning Marley Watkins.

Josh Nisbet had a decent chance in the 12th minute as he worked his way through on goal, Robby McCrorie stood up well and saved the effort to deny County the lead.

County captain Connor Randall attempted to fire high into the net just after the half-hour mark, but McCrorie was again alert and pulled off a great save.

Joe Wright had half a chance in the opening minutes of the second half as a header from outside the box almost caught out Jordan Amissah, but the County goalkeeper watched it fizz past the post.

David Watson got his foot to a cross after 66 minutes, but his effort didn’t have too much behind it an Amissah found it relatively easy to stop.

Great work from Fraser Murray down the wing a few minutes later saw a low cross fall to Bruce Anderson, the striker saw his effort blocked out for a corner.

Brad Lyons leapt highest from a corner as he headed on target in the 74th minute, Amissah was again on call to clutch the effort into his grasp.

County got themselves in front when Harmon fired home from close range in the 86th minute.
