The Killie Community volunteers are a vital part of our team and the impact we make across the community.
In return, we are committed to making sure volunteering is a meaningful and rewarding experience, where you feel valued, supported and part of something bigger. Whether you are looking to give something back, build confidence, meet new people or take your first steps into a new opportunity, there is a place for you here.
Lenny is a great example of the impact volunteering can have, not just on our community, but on the individual themselves.
Now 77, Lenny has become a familiar face at Rugby Park, volunteering most mornings and playing an important role in our Walk & Talk and Get Together sessions. He is a valued member of our team and someone we are incredibly proud to have as part of The Killie Community.
His journey reflects what volunteering is all about, finding purpose, building connections and being part of a supportive community.
While at Ayrshire College, Ciara first asked to join as a volunteer, despite “knowing nothing about football”.
Through her time with The Killie Community, she found a passion for working with people, particularly older adults, and began supporting sessions across a range of programmes.
She went on to develop and lead our Care Homes programme, delivering mobility-friendly football activity combined with Football Memories sessions across Ayrshire. Her work had a significant impact, earning her a nomination for an East Ayrshire Award.
Today, Ciara has progressed to permanent staff member, demonstrating how volunteering can open doors and create real career pathways.
We are proud to celebrate the contribution of our outstanding fundraisers and volunteers through The Killie Community Hero Awards.
While this is one way we recognise those who go above and beyond, it represents just a small part of how much we value our fundraisers. Every individual who donates or gives their time plays a role in improving lives across our community, and that impact never goes unnoticed.
If you are interested in becoming part of The Killie Community, we would love to hear from you.
No previous experience is required, just be a people person, a willingness to get involved and make a difference.
