Free Prostate Cancer testing available at The Killie Community Hub

Kilmarnock Football Club’s charity is partnering with The Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative by hosting a free prostate cancer testing event at The Killie Community Hub on Sunday, August 23.

The event will offer free PSA blood tests for men aged 40 to 80, helping to support earlier detection of prostate cancer and improve access to the right treatment pathway. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Scotland, and more than 12,500 men have already been tested through the Initiative since its launch in March 2026.

Testing will take place from 10am to 5pm and is available by appointment only.

Each appointment will last around 15 minutes. A simple blood sample will be taken by the medical team, with no physical examination required. Those attending are asked to drink plenty of water before their appointment, including at least two litres the day before and on the day, and to avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours beforehand.

The event builds on The Killie Community’s existing work supporting men affected by prostate cancer. The charity delivers Prostate FFIT at Rugby Park, a free 12-week health and wellbeing programme developed by Prostate Scotland and the SPFL Trust to help men affected by prostate cancer feel stronger, fitter and more supported during and after treatment.

We know how important early detection and support can be, and we are pleased to be able to bring this free testing opportunity to Kilmarnock.”

The Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative is being supported by Scottish businesses in conjunction with the prostate cancer charity the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust and UK digital diagnostics company EDX Medical.

Some participants may also be invited to provide additional samples for research to support the development of more accurate and efficient early diagnosis methods for prostate cancer. Results will be sent directly and confidentially to each participant by email within a few days. Kilmarnock FC and The Killie Community will not have access to personal medical results or medical information.
