Match Preview: Falkirk (A)
Scottish Premiership – Matchday 29
Saturday 28th February – 3pm
Falkirk Stadium
Last Time Out: Killie
Killie claimed a deserved late point in a 1–1 draw at Tannadice Park, with Marley Watkins heading home in stoppage time to seal the comeback.
Chances were scarce early on, though United struck the bar and later saw a penalty superbly saved by Kelle Roos before the break. Roos was called into action again after the interval with an excellent stop, but the hosts eventually broke through on 73 minutes when Amar Fatah curled home a fine effort.
Killie pushed in the closing stages, going close through Bruce Anderson and Dom Thompson, and their persistence paid off deep into added time as Watkins’ looping header secured a fully deserved share of the points.
Last Time Out: Falkirk
Falkirk pushed league leaders Heart of Midlothian all the way at Tynecastle Park but came away empty-handed after a narrow 1–0 defeat.
Despite a bright start and more efforts on goal in the first half, Falkirk failed to seriously test Alexander Schwolow, with Ben Broggio and Barney Stewart both missing good chances. Hearts made them pay just before half-time when Islam Chesnokov netted his first goal for the club.
Falkirk goalkeeper Scott Bain produced several strong saves to keep the score down, while Filip Lissah made a crucial intervention to deny a second, but the hosts held on for victory.
