Nico Mantl joins Killie

Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Nico Mantl, subject to Scottish FA approval, the UK Government granting an international sportsperson visa, and receipt of international clearance.

The German goalkeeper – a two-time Austrian Bundesliga and cup champion with Red Bull Salzburg – has signed a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park.

The 26-year-old joins Conor Brennan’s goalkeeping unit and will provide competition for a first-team spot while Max Stryjek recovers from a serious knee injury.

Nico brings vast experience to Ayrshire. From Munich, he’s played in the top-flight of Denmark, Austria and Portugal in his career to date, with Scotland set to be added to that list. He has also represented Germany four times at Under-21 international level.

He will wear the number 58 shirt. Good luck, Nico!
