Foodbank Collection at St Mirren match

As part of our continued partnership with The Killie Trust, Kilmarnock Football Club can announce that a Foodbank Collection will be held ahead of our home match with St Mirren on Saturday, October 26.

Leaflets raising awareness of this much-needed collection will be distributed around Rugby Park ahead of this weekend’s clash with Livingston.

Donations will be gratefully received at stalls near the Chadwick and Moffat stands prior to kick off on October 26.

Lesley-Ann Adair from our local Foodbank told us – “In the past year, we have provided much needed food to over 6,000 people, including 2,000 children and we’re now distributing over six and a half tonnes of food every month.

“Currently, donations range between three-four tonnes which means we are face with a severe shortage of food and without the generous support of our local community, the foodbank is at risk of closing.

“We’re extremely grateful to the Club for working with us once again and the generosity of Killie fans last season was overwhelming. A massive thank you to anyone who chooses to donate.”

A typical food parcel includes breakfast cereals, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, tinned beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables and fruit, sugar, biscuits, tea, coffee and snacks. Currently local stocks are particularly low in tinned fruit, tinned meat, UHT milk, breakfast cereals and tea bags.
