St Johnstone (A) match preview

By Lewis Nicol

Kilmarnock Women travel to Riverside Stadium to face St Johnstone as they hope to get back to their winning ways.

Coming off the back of the loss against Gartcairn, Killie will want to get back on track and get back to the form they were on before that match where they had won three on the bounce and gained a point against top of the league Queen’s Park.

St Johnstone are coming into this game as the team on form as they have won their last two matches in convincing fashion. However, they sit at 5th in the league table at the moment and will want to get revenge for the 3-1 defeat to Killie on the 14th of January.

Jim Chapman’s side still have a few key player’s out due to injury, but the squad should have enough quality to pull together and get a positive result against St Johnstone away from home.

A win for Killie would put them 10 points behind first placed Queen’s Park, who also play today, as they look to close the gap at the top of the table. Although, despite obviously wanting to win, any result would keep them at second on the table.

Chapman is clearly confident in his team as he said: “The sign of a good team is how you respond, I’ve got absolute, 100% confidence and belief in this squad.”

The match will kick off at 1pm today.
