Falkirk Women 0 Kilmarnock Women 4

Kilmarnock Women secured all three points on the road with an impressive 4–0 victory over Falkirk, producing an excellent attacking display despite the challenging windy conditions at Grangemouth.

Killie settled into the game quickly and controlled proceedings from the opening minute, playing some excellent football as they looked to make their strong start count.

The breakthrough arrived after just three minutes. A well-timed through ball found Erin O’Brien, whose initial effort was saved by the Falkirk goalkeeper. The striker reacted quickest to the rebound, tapping the ball into the empty net to give Killie an early 1–0 lead.

Killie continued to dominate possession and create opportunities, with their attacking play causing problems for the Falkirk defence.

The second goal arrived in the 12th minute. Eilidh Martin delivered an excellent free kick from a wide area, finding skipper Laura McLaughlin inside the six-yard box, who turned the ball home to double Killie’s advantage.

The visitors continued to control the game, working their way into dangerous attacking areas and creating several opportunities. Some determined defending from Falkirk prevented Killie from extending their lead further.

However, the third goal of the afternoon arrived following an outstanding team move. Goalkeeper Ayley Tebbett started the attack as Killie played out confidently from the back. Imogen Mooney found McKean, who combined brilliantly with Kelsy Crainie in a quick one-two before threading an excellent pass through to Skye Stout. The winger made no mistake, firing the ball beyond the Falkirk goalkeeper and into the corner to round off a superb passage of play.

Killie went into the half-time break with a deserved 3–0 advantage following a dominant first-half performance.

The second half saw a slightly different display, with Killie unable to maintain the same intensity and attacking rhythm that had caused Falkirk so many problems in the opening 45 minutes. Despite this, the hosts struggled to create any clear-cut opportunities.

The introduction of fresh legs from the bench helped Killie regain control and add renewed energy to their attacking play.

Rachel Osborne thought she had added a fourth after producing an excellent lob over the Falkirk goalkeeper, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

Killie eventually found their fourth goal following another set-piece opportunity. A corner delivered by Reside was cleared towards the edge of the penalty area, where Ruby Morrison met the loose ball with a superb volley, lifting her effort over the goalkeeper and into the top corner to score her first goal for the club.

Killie comfortably saw out the remainder of the match to secure all three points, rounding off an impressive afternoon in difficult conditions with four goals and a clean sheet.
