Our Community Hero award is on a short winter break but we want your nominations for 2019 as the action restarts in January.
Let’s take a look back at some of the fantastic champions we’ve honoured so far this season.
We’ve welcomed John Keast, who has given up his own time for years to set up Bonnyton Flyers and provide a club for youngsters with disabilities and issues to feel good about themselves.
Our very own Derek Weir, aka ‘Hoss’ has been recognised for his 25 years of service as a foster carer as well as helping out the club. And who could forget Winnie Campbell, who is approaching 103 years old and is still an avid supporter of Ayrshire’s finest team.
Over the Christmas period we also lauded the contribution of Allan Parris, who collected hundreds of bags of Christmas presents for single parents in the area.
We want to find the next batch of deserving recipients, those selfless people who come to the fore and give up their time and effort to help others.
