Match report: Kilmarnock 3-0 Queen of the South | Reserves

Kilmarnock secured another cup final for the season as they defeated Queen of the South in the SPFL Reserve Cup semi-final.

The positive result adds to our Scottish Youth Cup final for the Under 18s next month – as we aim to secure a double.

It was a youthful Killie side as they took on the Doonhamers with a spot in the final at stake.

Stuart Findlay was back on the pitch for the first time since November as he managed 55 minutes – a good showing which included an assist.

Reuben Cooper had a good chance to open the scoring after 8 minutes as a low cross was fizzed to him in the box – but he couldn’t get a good enough connection.

Stuart Findlay did well to drive into the box 2 minutes later, he could have poked it home himself but he unselfishly laid it off to Cooper Eaglesham who happily fired home.

Cooper then got his goal after 23 minutes when he smashed an effort into the net to double Killie’s advantage.

Aaron Brown fired home from close range after 62 minutes as he made it 3-0 to ensure Killie had plenty of distance in the tie.

Eaglesham had the chance to make it 4-0 and secure a brace in the 77th minute as he headed narrowly over the crossbar.
