Match report: Kilmarnock 2-1 Dunfermline | Reserves
Kilmarnock secured a late win against Dunfermline in the SPFL Reserve League this afternoon.
Innes Cameron had a good chance after 10 minutes as he found himself in space after a cross, he didn’t get the connection he’d hoped for though and it was stopped by Jay Hogarth.
Matty Kennedy had the ball in the net in the 13th minute with a nice finish – but unfortunately his celebrations were cut short as the offside flag was raised.
Liam Donnelly fired Killie in front as he took the ball down well just inside the 18 yard box, he calmly finished across the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 after 15 minutes.
Robby McCrorie did well to keep the scores level in the 40th minute when Josh Cooper’s shot took a wicked deflection over the goalkeeper, but he got back in time to tip it over the crossbar.
Gary Mackay-Steven had a great chance to make it 2-0 from close range just before the half-time whistle – but he fired over the crossbar.
The Pars equalised after 65 minutes as Taylor Sutherland beat McCrorie to the ball before stroking it home.
The game seemed to be heading for a draw, but Cameron stepped up to fire home the winner 5 minutes from time.
