Kilmarnock suffered their first defeat in a month as Aberdeen claimed a 2-0 victory against the Ayrshire side at Pittodrie on Saturday 8th April 2023.
The hosts opened the scoring when Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes burst through on goal with just 16 seconds on the clock. Christian Doidge’s volley and Liam Donnelly’s header forced fine saves from the Aberdeen ‘keeper as Derek McInnes’s side came closest to finding an equaliser moments before the half-time whistle. However, the points were ultimately put out of Killie’s reach when Duk found the net for a second time with half an hour left to play.
