Lyons: carrying the feel-good factor is in our own hands
Brad Lyons has stated that continuing to build the “feel-good factor” around Rugby Park is in the club’s own hands, while emphasising that there are plenty of matchwinners in the Kilmarnock side who could cause an upset on Sunday.
Previewing the Viaplay League Cup clash against Celtic, Lyons said: “You need to beat the best to win tournaments like this. Our start to the season has shown that we’re a very good team. We work hard for each other and we’re very well-drilled out on the training pitch. We’ve had a good pre-season, fitness levels are right up there and with the results we’re full of confidence; that’s a massive thing in football.
“Confidence is key: when you’re winning games everything happens naturally. There’s a real feel-good factor around the club. Last year showed us that we can get to Hampden and compete against Celtic, so why can’t we do it out there on Sunday?
“You know it’s going to be a really tough fixture. They’ll move the ball quickly, and move it well, but we know that we have players on the pitch that can win games.”
