Loan watch: Cup success and MOTM award

A number of our younger players are out on loan across Scotland, here’s how they got on this week.

Corey Armour helped Auchinleck Talbot into the Scottish Cup second round as they defeated Lowland League side Albion Rovers 2-1 at Cliftonhill. Talbot will face Broxburn Athletic on the weekend of October 26th for a spot in the third round. The Beechwood Park side face WoSL First Division side Vale of Clyde this weekend in the West of Scotland Cup. Andrew Miller wasn’t featured in Saturday’s matchday squad.

Lewis Mackle picked up Hurlford United’s man of the match award in their WoSL Premier Division clash away to Pollok. It was another 90 minutes in the tank for the young defender – although it was a disappointing result for injury and suspension-ravaged ‘Ford who lost 4-0 at Newlandsfield Park.

Aidan Glavin and Kian Leslie’s unbeaten start at Elgin City continued in a 3-3 draw against Edinburgh City. Leslie picked up his first start for the Borough Briggs side, he was subbed off at half-time with Elgin trailing 1-0. Glavin looked set to be part of a win until Edinburgh scored a 94th minute equaliser.

Ethan Brown made his second start in a row for Dumbarton, again with 90 minutes, as they travelled to Dumfries to take on Queen of the South. Unfortunately he suffered his second defeat in a row as the Sons lost 2-0 – they remain without a win in League One this season. Zander Craik wasn’t featured in the Doonhamers’ matchday squad.

Dylan Brown wasn’t featured in Kilwinning Rangers’ matchday squad due to his international duty with Scotland Under 17s.
