KCST send Killie kit to Africa

As well as the fantastic work our community department do across Ayrshire, we were thrilled to see the famous Killie colours being worn in Africa after a generous donation was made by the KCST.

A package of last season’s first team kit and training wear was flown to two rural villages in Kenya near Lake Victoria  following a request from Alan Grenfell – a qualified football coach in West Kilbride who has helped to deliver football coaching in the communities there.

The village of Ngeri has enjoyed organised football for eight years now, but following the kind donation from the KCST, Alan has now been able to provide the surrounding villages the chance to take part in the beautiful game as well whilst wearing our kit.

(Above, you can see FC Jama and Nyagwethe Village enjoying their new Killie kit!)

“We were delighted to help out a worthwhile cause, it’s especially heartwarming to provide kit to two villages who otherwise might not have gotten access to this kind of equipment,” said Paul di Giacomo, community manager.

“Helping out in our local community is fantastic, and it’s lovely to see the influence we can have in another part of the world as well. It’s always nice to see the colours of the mighty Ayrshire Killie abroad!”
