KCST create Hexagol heaven at summer camps

Our KCST team are no slouches during the summer holidays as they tour East Ayrshire to keep kids entertained with our Hexagol facility.

Our community coaches have been working across the region in partnership with East Ayrshire Active Schools, using fun and football for all as their slogan.

Youngsters have been learning more about how to move with the ball, maintain strong body balance while having lots of fun in safe learning environment along with themed sessions and games.

The KCST Hexagol helps improve a child’s speed, passing, agility, control and energy with the self-enclosed mobile arena allowing kids to practice skills with friends, play one against one or two against two.

Each school has been taking part in our kickboard challenge to get the best time around the Hexagol with Hillhead PS leading with a time of 36 seconds after the first three weeks of classes.

With more venues to visit in the next three weeks, the team has already stopped in at Hillhead Primary, Jo Love Soccer Camp – Ayrshire College, Netherthird Gardens, Whatriggs P.S, Newmilns P.S, Auchinleck Primary, Sport Darvel, Loudoun Leisure Centre, Logan P.S, Doon Valley Leisure Centre and Garnock Community Campus.

Community Support Officer Grant Moore said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Active Schools again during the summer school holidays, we piloted this scheme and Easter and it was a roaring success.

“We managed to hit over 1000 kids in those two weeks alone and we have definitely surpassed that number already.

“This programme works well with everyone as our coaches can go and deliver to different kids at alternate venues whilst helped by EAC staff and we also provide free lunches every single kid that books up to each session. This is fantastic and once again promotes our core health and well-being values.

“The KCST can’t wait for the remaining weeks of the holidays.”
