Docherty appointed new manager of Dundee FC
The club can confirm that Tony Docherty has agreed to take the vacant managerial role at Dundee FC.
Tony joined Kilmarnock’s management team in January 2022, reuniting with Derek McInnes who he had previously worked alongside during a 14-year partnership at St Johnstone, Bristol City and Aberdeen.
As Assistant Manager, Tony played an important role in Kilmarnock’s resurgence over the past 18 months, which saw him assist in achieving the target of promotion and Premiership safety.
Commenting on his departure, Derek McInnes said: “Firstly, I would like to congratulate Tony on the opportunity he has to manage such a good club. Living in the area, he knows the full potential of Dundee FC.
“One a personal note, I would like to thank Tony for his help and immense loyalty over all of the years we have worked together, and wish him well in his new challenge.”
The club thank Tony for his contribution as he leaves Rugby Park with best wishes for the future.
Tony’s replacement will be announced in due course.
