Coffee Morning at The Killie Community Hub | Friday 25th Sep

The Killie Community will open the doors of its Community Hub at Rugby Park for a special Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September.

Supporters and members of the wider community are invited to drop in between 11.30am and 1.30pm for tea, coffee and cake, while helping to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Whether you regularly visit The Killie Community Hub, are a Killie supporter who has never been inside the Hub, or simply want to support an important cause, we would love to welcome you.

With the event taking place during Scotland’s Climate Week, visitors will also have the chance to discover how the Hub is becoming greener and learn more about local environmental work.

Visitors can explore The Killie Community Hub and find out about some of the technology helping to minimise the Hub’s environmental impact.

The Hub is home to 42 solar panels, a state-of-the-art air-source heat pump system, and improved insulation. Together, these measures help the charity generate renewable electricity, retain heat more effectively and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. The improvements were made possible primarily through Scottish Government CARES funding, alongside Renewable Energy Funding associated with Whitelee Windfarm.

Colleagues from Ayrshire Climate Hub will join on the day, giving visitors the opportunity to ask questions about renewable energy and steps that households and community organisations can take themselves.

At the heart of the event will, of course, be support for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tea, coffee and cakes will be available alongside some traditional Macmillan Coffee Morning activities, with donations welcomed on the day.

Anyone who enjoys baking is welcome to bring something along to share, although there is absolutely no obligation. You can simply come along, enjoy a cuppa and a slice of cake, and make a donation if you are able to.

The event is free to attend, but visitors are asked to register in advance to help the team plan for numbers.
