‘Bring a Gift’ day 2024 (December 15th)

Kilmarnock Football Club are teaming up with a squad of local partners to support the community through the ‘2024 Bring a Gift’ appeal.

The festive period is a very challenging time for many parents who will struggle to pay bills and place a Christmas dinner on the table for their loved ones.

In partnership with the Kilmarnock FC Supporters Association (KFCSA), Salvation Army, and East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action (EACHa), the club is once again leading the Bring a Gift appeal to ease pressure on families by helping to put presents under trees this year.

The club is eternally grateful for the generosity shown by supporters who have selflessly contributed to the annual appeal over the past seven years. Your support plays a vital role in making Christmas a day to remember for the whole Killie family.

WHEN IS BRING A GIFT DAY?

The 2024 Bring a Gift Day will coincide with Kilmarnock’s premiership clash with Heart of Midlothian on Sunday 15th December.

Collection points will be open outside of the Moffat Stand turnstiles – across from The Park Hotel – and also at the Rugby Road end of the stadium from 1-3pm.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

Gifts for youngsters of all ages, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, will be very warmly welcomed.

It is politely requested that you wrap gifts and mark whether they are most suitable for:

  • A boy, girl or gender neutral
  • A specific age range

WHO DOES MY DONATION SUPPORT?

Following the collection, the Salvation Army and children’s services will deliver gifts to local families in time for Christmas.

Your generosity will spread the Christmas cheer to children who would otherwise have little to look forward to on Christmas Day.

A THANK YOU FROM THE PARTNERS

Janice Grant of EACHa: “EACHa is proud to partner once again with Kilmarnock Football Club and KFCSA with Bring a Gift.

“The gifts football supporters have brought along for the past few years have made a huge difference to thousands of children, bringing Christmas cheer to families who struggle at this time of year. Please also keep in mind older teenagers, often young care leavers, who do not have family support.

“The gifts will be distributed by staff of children’s services before Christmas, and every single one will put a smile on a child’s face. Thanks for your generosity, football supporters are the best!”

Terry McGarry, Chairman of the KFCSA: “Once again we are delighted to be involved in helping bring joy to kids in Ayrshire who may not have enjoyed Christmas without the help of Kilmarnock fans.

Over the years we have collected over an incredible 3,500 parcels which were distributed to local families via social services. We hope that fans will be as generous this year as they have been over the past seven years since we launched the Xmas appeal.”

Meanwhile the Killie Community have been doing their bit with their Christmas campaign which aims to provide children with presents who’d otherwise wake up with nothing.

Jordan Allison, Killie Community’s Charity Manager, said: “The Killie Community’s initiatve has already seen over 129 tags collected from their Christmas Tree.

“Each tag on our tree has represented a local young person from our most deprived communities, detailing their age and their Christmas wishes.

“For many children across Ayrshire, particularly care experienced young people and care leavers, Christmas Day will simply be just another day.

“However, thanks to initiatives like these, hundreds of young people who would likely go without a single gift this Christmas, will wake up to a present and realise someone is thinking about them.”
