Alex Dyer and Stephen O’Donnell | Pre-Rangers

Alex Dyer wants his Killie side to go to Ibrox with a positive mindset as we take on Steven Gerrard’s side on Boxing Day.

Killie head to Govan on the back of narrow defeats to Ross County and Motherwell while Rangers go into the game having beaten Hibernian 3-0 at Easter Road.

However Killie have a strong recent record at Ibrox with two draws in the league last season and one win and one draw in 2017/18.

Dyer told Killie TV: “We go to Rangers knowing that we’ve got to do the best we can to try and win the game, it is as simple as that.

“We know they are playing some top football at the moment. We have to go there and be positive and give a good account of ourselves.

“We usually go there and work hard and set out our stall well and we’ll try and do the same again.”

Defender Stephen O’Donnell scored the last time the teams met back in August and he is targeting precious points ahead of January’s winter break.

He added: “We’ve got a tough few games coming up but we need to try and get as many points as possible and then come the break, we’ll get away and come back recharged and push on for another top six challenge.

“Hopefully there will be a turning point over the next few games and then we can go into the break.”
