Killie complete Ieuan Owen coup
Kilmarnock Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Ieuan Owen from Welsh Premier League side Barry Town United, subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old striker joins Ayrshire’s finest for an undisclosed fee, having signed a two-year deal at BBSP Stadium Rugby Park.
Fresh from being voted Young Player of the Year in the JD Cymru Premier after scoring 19 goals in all competitions – 11 on league business – Ieuan becomes our first summer signing, as Neil McCann begins refreshing his first team squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
A real coup for the club, Ieuan also contributed with four assists in his 42 appearances during the last campaign, which culminated with him being named in Team of the Season at the FAW National League Awards.
Our frontline possesses sheer firepower and pace with Ieuan joining Tyreece John-Jules, Joe Hugill and Djenairo Daniels in the squad to lead our attack in the new campaign.
Ieuan dominated the headlines in February when he scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over The New Saints as Barry lifted the Nathaniel MG Cup Final – their first top-flight silverware in over two decades.
The youngster also showed exemplary fitness levels, playing in every league match for Barry over the course of the 25/26 season.
Ieuan previously had an impressive scoring record in the Cymru South with Afan Lido too. He netted 15 goals in 25 games, which earned him the move to Barry Town two years ago.
“I’m over the moon to be here,” Ieuan told Killie TV. “I’m looking forward to being here at such a big, historic club, and I can’t wait to get going. The stadium is a lot bigger than what I’m used to! I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans and meeting the boys.
“It’s the biggest achievement that I’ve had so far in my career. My parents and family are excited to come up to see me playing. It’s a dream come true. I’m full of energy, I like high pressing and high tempo. I’m skilful in one-vs-ones.”
Ieuan will officially join Killie when the transfer window opens on Monday, June 15 and will wear the number 27.
