Killie produced a composed and dominant second-half performance to claim a well-earned victory over St Mirren in the quarter-final, booking a place in the semi-finals with an impressive comeback win.

The opening stages were competitive, with both sides battling for control. Killie enjoyed good spells of possession and created early openings, but it was St Mirren who took the lead late in the first half when Luke Douglas found the net shortly before the break.

The response from Killie after the restart was immediate. Just minutes into the second half, sustained pressure inside the St Mirren penalty area saw the referee point to the spot. Captain Archie Traynor stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, bringing Killie level and giving the side momentum for the remainder of the half.

Killie continued to push forward and persistence paid off around the 65th minute when Cole Coughlin showed great composure to finish well and restore Killie’s lead.St Mirren attempted to respond, but Killie remained organised at the back and limited the visitors to few clear chances. The result was put beyond doubt in the 73th minute when Logan Foster added Killie’s third goal, capping off a confident team performance and underlining Killie’s dominance in the second half.

Killie saw out the closing stages professionally to secure the victory and advance to the semi-finals, with the draw for the next round to be made at a later date.
