Dundee United 0-2 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock picked up a crucial victory on the road against Dundee United.

Killie got themselves in front after 26 minutes when Bruce Anderson fired a powerful shot into the net making it 1-0.

Vicko Sevelj had a good chance for the hosts 10 minutes before half-time, he jumped highest from a corner but thankfully for Killie it flew narrowly wide.

Anderson went close again in the 40th minute, his shot outside the box was well saved by Yevhenii Kucherenko.

Killie’s lead was then doubled as Robbie Deas smashed a header towards the goal, United’s goalkeeper thought he’d done enough to keep it out but referee Ross Hardie quickly pointed towards the halfway line to signal goal.

Returning captan Brad Lyons tried his luck from distance in the 71st minute, again though Kucherenko was equal to it and got down well to save.

Julies Eskesen had a great chance in the 76th minute as he fired two shots, David Watson blocked the first before his second fizzed wide.

United had the golden opportunity to pull one back in the 87th minute as Max Stryjek conceded a penalty – but he redeemed himself in the perfect way with a fine save from Zak Sapsford’s penalty.
