Alloa Athletic 3-0 Kilmarnock B

It was a frustrating night for Kilmarnock’s B team who lost 3-0 away to Alloa Athletic on Tuesday, 23 September.

Samuel Duruh had a good chance after 15 minutes – an Eddie Beach punt up the pitch played him through on goal, but the No 9 couldn’t quite steer his low shot on target.

Alloa got themselves in front after 33 minutes when Luke Rankin curled home a fine effort from inside the area.

Former Killie striker Conor Sammon had a great chance just after half-time as his close-range effort looked to be trickling in, but Eddie Beach did well to recover and keep the effort out on the line.

Substitute Remo Margiotta had a good opportunity after nice build-up play in the 49th minute, his shot was blocked to deny him an equaliser.

Alloa had a golden chance to make it 2-0 when they were awarded a penalty, Eddie Beach saved well though from the spot-kick to deny Rankin his second.

But just two minutes later he grabbed his brace with a powerful strike straight into the top corner.

Steven Buchanan was through on goal in the 71st minute, but Beach did well again to get a foot to his shot and save.

Duruh tried his luck after a nice run in the 74th minute, a low powerful shot was fired on target – but Alloa goalkeeper Tochukwu Ogayi saved well.

Sammon then grabbed his goal as it sealed Killie’s fate.
