Two youth players sign professional deals
We are delighted to announce that two of last season’s Under 18s players have signed professional deals with the club following our Scottish Youth Cup success.
Aaron Davis and Noah Simpson have both penned two-year deals and will continue with our newly-formed Under 19s squad ahead of the new season.
Aaron, 16, signed from Ayr Boswell Boys’ Club in May 2024 and proved to be a key part of Chris Burke’s Under 18s squad last season.
Noah, 15, signed from W Academy Boys’ Club in March 2022 and worked his way into last season’s Under 18s squad.
Paul Di Giacomo, Head of Academy, said: “It’s great to get these boys signed up on professional deals, they have earned this recognition and the chance to continue their progression.
“Aaron is a hard-working midfield/defensive player who is happy to do the dirty work and gritty side of the game for his teammates to allow others to play.
“Noah can play midfield/striker, he is another hard-working player with competitive qualities who has an eye for goal.”
“We are looking forward to seeing the boys progress over the next few years and hopefully they along with their teammates can fulfil the potential they have.”
First-team manager, Stuart Kettlewell, said: “Both Aaron and Noah have had unique journeys coming here from boys’ club, but everyone has their own path and it’s great to see them get to the level they’re at.
“Our academy staff have identified them as exciting prospects, along with a number of the Scottish Youth Cup winning side, and this just highlights the strength of our academy which we need to be taking advantage of.
“It’s important that all of our young players know that there is a clear pathway to the first team, it’s now up to them to put in the hard work and show us what they can do.”
