Council hosts Civic Reception for Killie 150
East Ayrshire Council hosted a Civic Reception to celebrate Kilmarnock Football Club’s 150th Anniversary.
The event, held at the William McIlvanney Campus and hosted by John Barnes, brought together key figures from the club’s past and present and celebrated Killie’s rich history.
The event was attended by over 70 pupils from local schools in East Ayrshire with all seven secondary schools forming their own supporters groups following discussions with Provost Jim Todd and our KCST Community Manager Paul Di Giacomo.
Two question and answers sessions were held on the night, firstly involving first-team stars Gary Dicker, Rory McKenzie as well as Paul Di Giacomo and Kilmarnock FC’s Academy Director Paul McDonald.
A second session allowed former players Garry Hay, James Fowler and Cammy Bell to join Elsie Cook and share their fondest Killie moments and memories.
