Match report: Kilmarnock 1-1 Dundee
Kilmarnock fought back to secure a draw against Dundee at BBSP Rugby Park.
Lyall Cameron’s second half strike had the visitors ahead, before substitute Bobby Wales grabbed an equaliser.
It was a good save from Robby McCrorie after 5 minutes as he tipped a powerful Jordan McGhee shot out for a corner.
Bruce Anderson had a great chance in the 28th minute as Marley Watkins found him with a cross, but Anderson couldn’t get a strong enough contact to direct the header on target.
Fraser Murray tried his luck with a free-kick after 38 minutes, but Jon McCracken held well to avert danger.
Marley Watkins went close just after half-time as he cut inside and fired a shot away, it went narrowly wide.
After 56 minutes Anderson had another free header, again he couldn’t get the contact required to steer it on target.
It was a great chance just before the hour mark as Gary Mackay-Steven smashed a shot on target from 20 yards – Jon McCracken did well to save.
The ball fell kindly to Mackay-Steven in the 70th minute, but he couldn’t keep the effort down as he fired over the crossbar.
Dundee fired themselves ahead after 71 minutes when Cameron smashed into the roof of the net.
Substitute Wales made an instant impact as he smashed home a lay-off from Kyle Vassell first time as he levelled the scores.
Wales had another great chance in the 86th minute as he smashed a shot from 20 yards – it flew narrowly over the crossbar, he then had another good opportunity in stoppage-time but his chipped effort was well saved by McCracken.
