Match report: Kilmarnock 1-1 Livingston (Reserves)

Kilmarnock picked up a draw at home to Livingston in the SPFL Reserve League.

Oli Bainbridge scored Killie’s only goal of the game as he cancelled our Lewis Smith’s opener.

An experienced XI was named by coaches Alan Archibald and Craig Clark with a number of first-team players getting minutes ahead of our trip to Ross County this weekend.

Innes Cameron went close in the opening stages with a free header, but he couldn’t quite keep it down.

Lewis Smith fired the visitors ahead after 22 minutes as his low, powerful drive slid past the outstretched Corey Armour.

But just a couple of minutes later Oli Bainbridge leveled the scoring as he smashed into the bottom right-hand corner from 15 yards.

Joe Wright looked sure to score just before the hour mark when Cameron squared it to him with a teasing cross, but the big defender couldn’t beat Livi’s goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga.

Livingston almost went ahead in the 83rd minute as Samson Lawal curled a dangerous free-kick from 20 yards, but to Armour’s delight he watched it dip on to the crossbar.
