Loan watch: Clean sheets and cup success
A number of our younger players are out on loan across Scotland, here’s how they got on this week.
Aidan Glavin secured another clean sheet as Elgin City defeated Peterhead 1-0 away from home, and Kian Leslie made an appearance from the bench. Elgin leapfrogged their opponents from Saturday and now sit 2nd in the league table. Elgin have a free week this weekend before visiting Spartans a week on Saturday. The Borough Briggs side are still unbeaten since the pair joined – five and counting.
Corey Armour and Andrew Miller (Pictured, credit: Craig McGhee) both played 90 minutes with Auchinleck Talbot and picked up a clean sheet in their 6-0 West of Scotland League Cup victory against Vale of Clyde. Next up for Talbot is a third round South Challenge Cup match against Jeanfield Swifts this Saturday at Beechwood Park.
Ethan Brown’s wait for a victory at Dumbarton goes on – the Sons were up against it as they had a man sent off at home to Stenhousemuir. Brown played 90 minutes for the third match in a row, but it ended in a 3-1 defeat this week.
Lewis Mackle played the first half in Hurlford United’s 5-0 WoSL Cup victory away to Saltcoats Victoria. ‘Ford travel to Lugar Boswell Thistle in the South Challenge Cup this weekend.
Not in matchday squads: Zander Craik, Dylan Brown
