Match report: Dundee (A)

Kilmarnock secured a sensational late comeback in Dundee in incredible fashion.

Dundee were leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Ziyad Larkeche and Oluwaseun Adewumi.

But a Matty Kennedy brace alongside a Bruce Anderson header – all after 86 minutes ensured the three points were coming home to Ayrshire with a 3-2 win.

Derek McInnes made four changes to last week’s starting XI following our 3-3 draw with Dundee United.

Robby McCrorie, Robbie Deas, Liam Donnelly and David Watson replaced Kieran O’Hara, Stuart Findlay, Jack Burroughs and Liam Polworth.

Chances were at a premium in the opening 20 minutes and it took until the 22nd minute for the first reasonable shot was Larkeche fired a shot across goal, it fizzed wide of the post.

But less than a minute later he had a very similar chance – this time he made no mistake in smashing it across McCrorie into the far right-hand corner to give the hosts the lead.

Kyle Vassell went close with a header in the 38th minute – he couldn’t quite keep it down though as it was blocked out for a corner.

There was a major flashpoint in the match towards the end of the first half as Mo Sylla was shown a second yellow card – and therefore sent off – for an elbow to Matty Kennedy’s face.

Liam Donnelly had a decent chance as he curled towards goal from the edge of the box – but Jon McCracken did well to hold the effort.

Substitute Bruce Anderson went incredibly close to equalising after 79 minutes as his shot from 14 yards smashed off the post, agonisingly close.

Dundee then went up the park to double their lead with a chip from Adewumi who made his effort look easy.

Then an 86th minute goal from Kennedy sparked an incredible comeback as he fired it under McCracken.

Anderson quickly equalised with a brilliant header at the back post to send the away end wild.

Then four minutes into stoppage-time Kennedy made the Killie fans erupt as he slammed home after a wonderful Bobby Wales assist.
