Kilmarnock host cinch Premiership title holders Celtic in a live broadcast match at the BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park on Sunday 10th December.

Brendan Rogers’ side return to Ayrshire for the first time since falling to the hosts in August’s League Cup tie. Derek McInnes believes that his team can take inspiration from the home victory earlier in the season, as they aim to build on an impressive midweek performance at Pittodrie.

John Barnes is back on Killie TV commentary duties alongside Tom Callaghan, with the Sky Sports cameras also set to be in attendance.

Squad update

Derek McInnes is tasked with selecting a squad depleted by injuries to central midfielders. David Watson will serve a suspension, while Brad Lyons, Liam Donnelly and Rory McKenzie all suffered knocks midweek. Kyle Magennis is expected to return to training next week.

Comments from the camp

Speaking to press on Wednesday, Derek McInnes said: “You need a big performance and almost everything to go right.

“The reference for us is the last game and how much we did right. We will have a wrestle with Celtic knowing that we can win the game. It’s not just about a good performance, a couple of pats on the back, then up the road: it’s about trying to win the game.”

The Killie foodbanks team will be back in position this weekend, with a collection point in operation at the rear of the Moffat Stand. Donations are a vital means of support, helping to place meals on tables during the festive period.

Moffat Stand Fanzone
