Under 18’s: Kilmarnock 3-0 St Mirren

Kilmarnock’s Under 18’s bagged a fantastic 3-0 win at home to St Mirren this afternoon.

The Ayrshire side sealed three points thanks to goals from Shaun Kennedy, Zander Craik and Cole Burke which extended our lead at the top of the CAS Elite League to eight points.

Carrick McEvoy had a good chance after nine minutes as he fired a low shot at goal, but Killie captain Corey Armour got down well to palm it away.

Kennedy fired the Killie in front after 13 minutes as he headed home from close range.

Just a minute later Craik doubled the hosts’ lead as he tapped home from five yards out.

Kennedy almost had a double in the 38th minute when his free-kick from 25 yards troubled Shay Kelly, but the St Mirren No 1 tipped it out for a corner.

Cole Burke’s mazy run just before half-time almost ended in a stunning solo goal, but his effort from just outside the box fizzed narrowly over the crossbar.

Burke had a great chance just after the hour mark when he fired a powerful shot at goal, but Kelly saved well.

Burke then grabbed his goal in the 65th minute as his stunning strike made it 3-0 to the hosts.
