Striker Joe Hugill joins from Manchester United on permanent deal

We are pleased to confirm the signing of English striker Joe Hugill from Manchester United on a permanent deal until May 2027, pending international clearance.

Born in Durham, Hugill, 22, is a highly rated 6ft 2in striker who progressed through the youth systems at Newcastle United and Sunderland before joining Premier League side Manchester United, despite interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, in 2020. During his time with United’s academy he impressed with prolific goal-scoring and earned a reputation as a promising young striker.

Hugill has gained senior competitive experience through a series of loan spells in the English Football League, including at Altrincham, Burton Albion, Wigan Athletic, Carlisle United and most recently Barnet.
