The travelling support were in full voice, getting behind the team to kick off our start to the 2026/27 Premiership season.  

St Johnstone started off strong with an attacking performance creating multiple chances for themselves. After an excellent set play from Killie, John-Jules passed the ball through to Hugill but just hit it too hard for him to make connection with it.  

On the 14th minute St Johnstone took the lead after their number 9, Josh Fowler, found the bottom left corner. After a good run and a good pass from Erik Ring to Joe Hugill, Hugill then made a pass into the box, but it couldn’t meet a Killie player. After many excellent passes, our captain, Greg Kiltie, found the net on the 37th minute, making it level. John-Jules was substituted off for Jamie Brandon just before the half-time whistle. Half-time 1-1.  

As the second half started, St Johnstone took the lead once again from a corner on the 46th minute. Killie replied immediately with Hugill finding the net just after St Johnstone scored to make it 2-2, keeping Killie in the game. After some well-worked attacking play, Killie scored another on the 52nd minute to make it 2-3, giving us the lead. Kilmarnock started the second half off very strong, putting pressure on St Johnstone.  

After an excellent cross in from Brandon, Kiltie headed the ball just left of the goal winning Killie a corner. St Johnstone came from behind to make it level on the 68th minute after a VAR check for a possible offside, making it 3-3.  

After another spell of excellent attacking play from Killie, Lowery crossed the ball into the box, but it deflected off the goalie for a corner.  

St Johnstone took the lead after a free kick which hit Schjønning-Larsen’s leg which saw it go past Max making it 4-3. Killie had another chance to score after a technical pass from Rice to Mathurin, but no one was there to secure the goal after the cross from Mathurin.  

After a 7-goal thriller, St Johnstone came out on top. Final score, 4-3.
