Six of the best as Killie secure Reserve League victory

Kilmarnock picked up a fantastic win over Livingston in the SPFL Reserve League this afternoon.

The Ayrshire side cruised into the half-time break with a 6-0 lead, a deficit that remained until the final whistle.

It didn’t take long for the hosts to get themselves in front as Bobby Wales fired home from 20 yards less than two minutes after kick-off.

Killie’s lead was then doubled in the 11th minute as Lewis Mackle found space inside the area to win a header which he fired past Joe McQuire with relative ease.

It was then three after 17 minutes as Gary Mackay-Steven scored a stunning volley from distance, leaving McQuire helpless.

Just a minute later Ruari Ellis slammed it home from inside the area with a tidy finish across the goalkeeper.

Innes Cameron added to the goals in the 34th minute as he finished off a Wales effort by tapping home into an empty net to make it five.

Four minutes from half-time it was six of the best for Killie as Cameron bagged his brace with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

In the 52nd minute Livi had a decent chance when Dean Rhappozzoh headed towards goal, he was blocked by Killie No 1 Aidan Glavin, the ball then fell to Lewis Duncan who attempted to lob it in, but his effort was off target.

Steven Warnock attempted to slip through Aaron Brown on goal in the 82nd minute, but it was well blocked by the visitors’ defence to stop the attack.

Warnock then went close himself in the 88th minute with a diving header, but it blazed over the crossbar.
