POTY awards handed out by local school kids

A Kilmarnock school dished out their player of the year awards at Rugby Park.

Grange Academy KFC Supporters Club chose their winners as: Player of the Year – Lewis Mayo; Young Player of the Year – David Watson.

Pupils from the school saved up their lunch money over the year to buy a trophy for the two players.

Grange teacher Charlie Adams said: “The pupils have enjoyed a tremendous season supporting the team and seeing them gain fourth spot and European Football.

“The pupils throughout the school voted for the player of the years in the past weeks.

“Outstanding performances from Lewis and David won them the Grange Academy awards.

“Presenting the awards were the pupils from the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award who as part of the project volunteered throughout the season to help clean the stadium after match days.

The boys presenting the Awards were Evan Ralston to David and Harry Adams to Lewis Mayo.
