Polworth pens new deal!

Kilmarnock FC are pleased to announce that Liam Polworth has signed a new one-year contract which will keep him at Rugby Park for the 2023/24 campaign, pending SFA approval.

Liam joined in 2021 and played a key role in the first half of a Championship-winning season. He made an instant impact at the club, opening his goalscoring account in the first Ayrshire Derby victory of the year.

The 28-year-old went on to make a substantial contribution last term, making 24 starts and 10 sub appearances as Kilmarnock secured Premiership survival and returned to Hampden Park. Liam also scored twice in the previous campaign, including the wonderstrike against Motherwell in December which earned Killie’s Goal of the Season award.

Commenting on his new deal, Liam said: “There are positives I can take from last season personally, but I still feel that I can offer much more. We know that expectations will be raised again this year, so I was desperate to come back and fight for the club at an exciting time.

“The management team and fans have been brilliant with me since the day I joined, and you never want to leave a club feeling like you have unfinished business. Returning to Kilmarnock and repaying them for the support was always my main ambition for the Summer.”
