Paul Di Giacomo named Interim Head of Academy
We are pleased to announce Paul Di Giacomo as our Interim Head of Academy.
Paul made over 100 appearances from Killie after graduating through our Academy system and he will lead the department until the end of 2021.
The 39-year-old has strong coaching credentials, having worked as part of our Academy structure for over 10 years before more recently undertaking work within Celtic’s Junior Academy.
A great role model for our youngsters, Paul will now focus solely on his Killie duties while continuing his position as Community Manager for the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust (KCST).
He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity and I’d like to thank James Fowler and the Board of Directors for their faith in me.
“As a Kilmarnock FC Academy graduate myself, I will try my best to help our young players to follow their dreams and give them the best chance to play in front of the Killie fans.
“We have some wonderful young players and staff within our Academy and I can’t wait to start working with them.”
Head of Football Operations, James Fowler said: “Paul has previously worked within and has a good understanding of the Academy structure, which will be a great help for the next few months.
“He is an enthusiastic character with a passion for player development and as an Academy graduate himself, his experience of the journey our young players are embarking upon will be invaluable.
“As a club we remain committed to our Academy and it is important to recognize the valuable financial support we continue to receive from our official partner, The Killie Trust and we will continue to work closely with them to add value wherever possible.”
