Nicke Kabamba delighted with perfect start
New signing Nicke Kabamba was delighted with the perfect start to his Killie career as he came off the bench to score his first goal in our 6-0 thrashing of Queen’s Park.
The striker, who only arrived at Rugby Park on Friday night, was introduced into the action on 65 minutes and he opened his account from a corner to net a fifth goal on the day.
Speaking to Killie TV after his move from Hartlepool United, Nicke said: “I’m over the moon, it is the perfect way to start when you join any team so I’m happy to get on the scoresheet and I’m looking forward to what is going to come next.
“Getting a goal makes it all a little bit easier going into the next game.
“As a striker you will take it, if it comes off your hip or backside and it did so I’m looking forward to hopefully scoring a better goal.”
Reflecting on his whirlwind move to Killie, Nicke said: “As soon as the call came in, I was buzzing the hear about it.
“It took about 24 hours for it all to go through and put my stuff in the car and drove here and I’m just happy to be here.
“I got here about 7.30pm on Friday night and I just met the boys today so to come on and score when I’d just met them was nice.”
