New additions join the Rugby Park resurgence

Kilmarnock Women FC are delighted to confirm the signing of four new squad members who will bolster Jim Chapman’s first-team ahead of the league opener on Sunday.

Defender Yasmin Boyce and midfielder Kerri Halpin join forwards Jemma Hughes and Dionne Brown as the latest additions to form the Rugby Park resurgence.

Yasmin Boyce

The 22-year-old no-nonsense defender caught the eye of Killie’s management team as an opposition player representing Queen’s Park last season. Already a popular member of the group, Yasmin is a vocal player who will strengthen organisation at the heart of defence.

Yasmin’s fantastic range of passing will also add another dimension to Killie’s build up play during the 2023/24 campaign.

Kerri Halpin

Kerri Halpin returns to the club on a permanent deal following a loan from Motherwell which was cut short due to injury last season. Despite a short initial stay, the 17-year-old impressed Killie’s management team who are delighted that the midfielder has opted to continue development at the club.

A hard-working, strong and tenacious box-to-box player with an eye for a pass, Kerri will provide a spark of creativity in the central area of the park.

Jemma Hughes

Also joining from Motherwell is promising young forward Jemma Hughes. The 18-year-old moves to Rugby Park in search of first-team opportunities, having shown flashes of exciting ability during her spell with the Scottish Women’s Premier League side.

As a striker who prefers to play on the shoulder of defenders, Jemma will create another option up front through her acceleration and finishing ability.

Dionne Brown

An opposing player for Gartcairn last season, experienced forward Dionne Brown brings an attacking threat and leadership qualities which will help to guide the squad’s core group of young players. A hard-working individual who thrives on linking midfield with attack, the 31-year-old is renowned for her selfless running that creates opportunities for teammates. Dionne also displays real quality from set-pieces, posing another threat in front of goal this season.

The new additions go straight into the squad for this Sunday’s ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 opener against Livingston. Tickets for the clash at the Tony Macaroni Arena can be secured online – HERE.
