Medical update: Max Stryjek

We can confirm that, during routine annual medical testing, an anomaly was identified relating to goalkeeper Max Stryjek.

Following thorough assessments by club doctors and leading medical professionals, it has been determined that Max will now undertake a recovery and treatment plan, with an estimated return in approximately 16 weeks. Throughout this period, Max will continue to be supported and cared for by the best available specialists as well as our medical staff.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell said: “Max is a hugely valued member of our squad and an outstanding professional. His health and wellbeing are our absolute priority, and he has the full support of everyone at the club. We’ll be with him every step of the way and look forward to seeing him back doing what he loves when the time is right.”

The club kindly asks supporters and media to respect Max’s privacy at this time, as discussion or conjecture regarding his condition would not be appropriate. We will provide further updates when relevant and in the best interests of the player.

We look forward to welcoming Max back to the squad as soon as possible.
