McKenzie: Embracing the nerves

Rory McKenzie believes that embracing nerves will be key in the lead up to Kilmarnock’s final day survival scrap as he puts a positive spin on the “adrenaline rush” that has kept him motivated throughout his career.

Speaking on Friday, the Killie No.7 said: “I’ve tried to put a spin on it: one day I’m not going to be playing football and I’ll have a normal job. In a few years I won’t have this feeling. There’s not going to be the adrenaline rush that I’ll have for the next three days, so I’m trying to spin it that way and enjoy it as best as I can.

“I was quite nervous leading up to the Dundee United game and the best I felt was when we were walking out. That’s when you know you’re in control. At this stage, you just want to play the game and not stew on it.”
