McInnes: ‘A real unity surrounds Rugby Park’

Derek McInnes has pinpointed the feeling of “unity” and “togetherness” as a main factor for Killie’s quick start to the season, while emphasising that staff behind the scenes play a vital role in ensuring new squad members feel at home.

Discussing his new group of players on Thursday, the manager commented: “What has pleased me more than the level of player, is the real unity, togetherness and spirit around the team. For this stage of the season – given that the boys have only known each other a matter of weeks – it’s pleasing. That tells you a lot about the dressing room that boys come into.

“The whole club does so much good, in terms of making players settle quickly. It’s not just me and my football staff, but all of the support staff who get players relocated, get them apartments and get them looked after.”
