Matty Kennedy returns to Rugby Park!


Kilmarnock FC are delighted to welcome back Matty Kennedy who has rejoined the club on a three-year deal.

A graduate of Killie’s academy, Matty originally joined the youth development pathway as a 7-year-old and progressed through the ranks to earn his senior debut nine years later. He went on to make 14 competitive appearances for the first-team, before moving to Premier League side Everton in 2012.

Following loan spells and a permanent move to Cardiff City, the winger returned North of the border with St Johnstone in 2018. Now a Northern Ireland international, the 28-year-old reunites with former manager Derek McInnes, who he worked under at Aberdeen.

Commenting on his return to Ayrshire, Matty said: “This is my team. I love the club and it’s somewhere that always felt like home, so I’m delighted to be back here. I always wanted to come back at some point.”
