Matchday Guide | Dundee United (A)

Kilmarnock will travel to Tannadice Park on Saturday to challenge Dundee United in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup.

A 2-1 victory sent Kilmarnock on the road to Hampden Park when the teams met in the League Cup earlier this season. This weekend, around 1,000 Killie supporters are expected to make the two-hour coach journey to back the team’s bid for a place in the last-8 of the competition.

International Killie TV subscribers will be brought coverage of the tie as a free add-on to their subscription.

Thoughts from the camp

Speaking on Thursday, Tony Docherty said: “It will be a difficult game, but we need to view this as a step towards getting back to Hampden. It’s so important that the players who have had that experience remember it and strive to get there again.”

Remembering Billy Thomson

A minute’s applause will be held prior to kick-off in memory of legendary Dundee United goalkeeper and former Kilmarnock coach Billy Thomson who sadly passed away this week.

During his time with United, Billy was a key part of the team that incredibly reached the UEFA Cup Final in 1987. Following his retirement, Thommo enjoyed a 14-year term as goalkeeper coach at Rugby Park.
