Match report: Kilmarnock 3-0 Celtic (Under 18s)
Kilmarnock’s Under 18s battled hard to pick up a comfortable victory at home to Celtic on Friday night.
Cole Burke fought well 5 minutes into the game as he chased down a loose ball, he beat the Celtic defender before firing a curling shot at goal, it was well saved by the Celtic goalkeeper.
A few minutes later Ben Brannan worked his way towards goal, but he couldn’t quite steer his low effort on target.
Archie Traynor fired Killie ahead after 27 minutes as he reacted quickest to a saved shot to slam home a rebounded effort.
Reuben Cooper tried his luck from distance just before half-time, but it was well saved once again.
Celtic’s No 9 went close with a header in the 49th minute, his header went narrowly over to the relief of Ben Coutts in the Killie goal.
Burke doubled Killie’s lead after 58 minutes as he burst away from the Celtic defence to get one-on-one with the goalkeeper, he finished well across the Celtic No 1.
Cooper then bagged a goal of his own in the 77th minute with a fantastic take down and then subsequent finish to make it 3-0.
