Match Preview: Rangers (A)

Scottish Premiership – Matchday 25

Wednesday 4th – February – 7:45pm | Ibrox Stadium , Glasgow

Last Time Out: Killie

Kilmarnock produced a superb performance to claim a long-awaited and emphatic 3-0 victory over Aberdeen. After an encouraging start that saw Liam Polworth go close early on, Killie took control with two quick-fire first-half goals, opening the scoring when Greg Kiltie’s dangerous delivery found the net through Brad Lyons before Bruce Anderson doubled the advantage moments later with a stunning strike from distance. The hosts continued their dominance after the break, with Anderson turning provider for Tyreece John-Jules to calmly finish and make it three. Aberdeen’s afternoon went from bad to worse when captain Graeme Shinnie was sent off, as Killie rounded off an excellent team display with a deserved clean sheet and three points.

Last Time Out: Rangers

Rangers were held to a 0-0 draw by Hibernian at Easter Road in the Scottish Premiership, as a lack of cutting edge prevented them from extending their winning domestic run. Making five changes following their European exit in Porto, the Gers saw efforts from Thelo Aasgaard and Mikey Moore, whose late finish was ruled out for offside, but clear chances were scarce in a tight contest. Jack Butland proved decisive at the other end, producing several important saves to deny Martin Boyle and Elie Youan, ensuring Rangers left the capital with a point.
