Match Preview: Motherwell (H)

William Hill Scottish Premiership – Matchday 13

Tuesday 18th – November – 3:00pm | BBSP Stadium Rugby Park, Kilmarnock

Last Time Out: Killie

Celtic ran out 4–0 winners against Kilmarnock on Sunday, November 9th, but Killie put in a committed performance for large spells of the match. Johnny Kenny gave the hosts a first-half lead, though Kilmarnock stayed well organised and limited Celtic’s clear openings going into the break. After the interval, Kieran Tierney added a second, but Killie continued to work hard and look for moments on the counter. In the closing 10 minutes, as Kilmarnock pushed to get back into the game, Celtic took advantage of the space with late goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels to widen the scoreline.

Last Time Out: Motherwell

Motherwell extended their unbeaten league run to three games with a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie. Despite starting brightly and creating the better early chances through Slattery and Maswanhise, they fell behind on the hour when Jesper Karlsson struck from distance on the counter. The Steelmen responded quickly, with a smartly taken Slattery corner finding Elijah Just unmarked to score his second league goal in as many games. Aberdeen threatened before the break and were fortunate not to go down to ten men after Gyamfi’s repeated fouls, but neither side could find a winner in a competitive but ultimately even contest, leaving Motherwell sixth in the Premiership.
