Match Preview: Falkirk (A)
William Hill Scottish Premiership – Matchday 11
Saturday 1st – November – 3:00pm | Falkirk Stadium, Falkirk
Last Time Out: Killie
Kilmarnock fell to a disappointing defeat against Aberdeen on Wednesday, despite a spirited performance at Rugby Park. The visitors took the lead after 19 minutes when Stuart Armstrong reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box, rifling a powerful strike into the net. Killie battled to get back into the game and thought they had levelled in the second half when Robbie Deas found the net, but the defender’s effort was ruled out for offside. Stuart Kettlewell’s side continued to press forward in search of an equaliser, creating several promising chances, but they couldn’t convert their pressure into a goal as Aberdeen held on for the win.
Last Time Out: Falkirk
Falkirk fell to a 4-0 defeat against Celtic, who looked revitalised under returning manager Martin O’Neill in his first game back in charge. The hosts started brightly but were undone when Johnny Kenny reacted quickest to a rebound to open the scoring, before adding a second just before half-time. Despite a near miss from Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi, Falkirk struggled to contain Celtic’s attacking threat, with Benjamin Nygren and Sebastian Tounekti both adding to the tally in the second half. It was a tough evening for Falkirk, who came into the match on the back of two straight wins but were ultimately overpowered by a dominant Celtic side.
